Setalla's was raised on the village of Mishongovi 

Married into a traditional pottery making family she learned pottery making from her mother-in-law, Agnes Navasie, and her sister-in-law, Eunice

Setalla’s pottery was formed in the traditional coil technique and is known for her polychrome wedding vases, traditional style piki bowls, and water canteens.

The use of traditional pigments, and dedication to traditional Hopi designs are her hallmarks. 

Setalla’s pottery is found in a number of prestigious museums, including the Smithsonian, the Peabody and the Heard.
